- Design of Plumbing and Fire Protection systems within the built
environment, with an emphasis on sustainable design.
- Support designing plumbing systems such as domestic water,
sanitary/vent, and storm systems.
- Support designing fire protection systems, including fire
sprinkler and standpipe systems.
- Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and
consultants to develop integrated solutions for complex
buildings.
- Undertake and document engineering analysis work, including
code research, load calculations, and equipment sizing, in a clear
manner.
- Communicate technical ideas to a broad range of audiences using
various formats, including presentations and workshops.
- Write reports documenting calculation methods and results,
design assumptions, and other technical information.
- The ability to prioritize effectively, balance assigned work
and exceptional organization skills required for our changing
environment.
- Influence with design on sustainable outcomes for our clients
to align with Arup's sustainability commitment.
- Assist in construction administration activities such as site
visits and submittal reviews.Is this role right for you?We're

- Bachelor's Degree in mechanical, architectural, civil, or
environmental engineering.
- Shown interest in the built environment and sustainable
development.
- Ability to collaborate with clients.
- Good time management habits, ability to multi-task, ability to
sustain focus on long tasks.
- Ability to communicate thoughts and technical ideas in an
accessible way.
- Attitude of taking initiative, enthusiasm, eagerness to learn,
teamwork, creativity.
- Ability to prioritize effectively, balance assigned work and
exceptional organization skills required for our changing
environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills needed for
team-based working.
- Presentation skills with colleagues and clients of all
levels.Preferred
- EIT/FE certification.
- Membership in ASPE, ASSE, ASHRAE, NFPA, or SFPE.
- Courses in sustainability or USGBC participation.
- Revit or 3D modeling experience.
- Internship experience in an engineering-related firm or
evidence of extracurricular activity in the field.
- Shown ability to perform in a paid work environment with
intermittent supervision.
- Past history of technical presentations and technical

salary hiring range for this job if performed in Boston, MA is
$72,500 to $79,500 per year. This range is commensurate with
experience, educational background, and skill level. Benefits are
not included in the base salary. Please note hiring ranges for
candidates performing work outside of Boston, MA will
