International Logistics Specialist

Job Description:

The International Logistics Specialist will work in conjunction with the International Customer Service Department to facilitate shipping of all international orders. The individual will prepare all international shipments; verify compliance procedures, preparation of export documentation, and contacting carriers as needed. They will also expedite orders through the queuing system to prioritize the workload and flow of the international shipments.

1. Determine the most economical means of shipping product to customer, using alternate avenues as applicable.

2. Accurately prepare all necessary documentation for international shipments such as commercial invoices, shipper?s letter of instruction, endorsement form, airway bills and bill of lading.

3. Liaise directly with customer and the international customer team providing export documents, shipping and delivery status.

4. Contacts forwarding company, as needed, for air freight shipments to obtain rate quotes. Incorporate rates on invoice.

5. Contacts carriers via phone as needed to obtain quotes and schedule pickups.

6. Enters shipments into computer system so invoice is generated, including freight charges.

7. Performs additional duties and assignments as directed by management.
