Description/Responsibilities: The Safety Coordinator leads the
safety culture for 1820 Spirits; leads the development and
execution of a sound safety program to achieve zero injuries;
develop / execute safety training; identify and remedy safety
hazards; oversees investigation of accidents, injuries, property
damage; provides safety program advice; mitigates time lost from
work and claims expenses, ensures rehabilitation, assess causes,
prevent reoccurrence; leads 1820 Spirits security and theft
prevention. -
- Lead the development / execution of a sound safety program to
achieve zero injuries at 1820 Spirits. Lead the creation of a
safety culture to ensure employees think safety first & watch out
for the safety of others. - Recommend, develop & execute
procedures, policies & programs to enhance workplace safety;
develop & execute safety training; lead an active safety committee
at 1820 Spirits; create & oversee a system to quickly identify &
remedy safety hazards; oversee investigation of accidents, injuries
& property damage. - Provide safety program advice to designated
safety reps at US manufacturing locations.
- Participate in development of PDS and execute the plan to
improve skills to meet job requirements.
- Develop the needed policies in support of the Safety Program;
provide input to the HR team on all policies as they are
developed.
- Efficiently manage Safety CAPEX projects at 1820 Spirits within
needed timeframe; provide advice for safety-related projects at
other locations.
- Work with other parties, such as claim adjusters, managed care
system, doctors, and management teams, and employees to mitigate
time lost from work and claims expenses, ensure effective
rehabilitation after injury, and assess causes and implement plans
to prevent reoccurrence. Provide workers' compensation advice and
guidance to others. Subject matter expert on workers compensation
carrier's claims administration system.
- Obtain and keep current the reporting and record keeping
requirements for safety and workers' compensation. Communicate and
coordinate with safety and workers' compensation related regulatory
agencies. Perform safety inspections and assist with inspections
for environmental compliance. Oversee procedures for reduction and
disposal of miscellaneous or non-routine hazardous materials.
Participate in and ensure compliance with regulations regarding
Spill Plan Control and Countermeasures. Assist with air and water
environmental inspections, as needed.
- Develop and conduct the safety portion of the new employee
orientation program at 1820 Spirits. Oversee Contractor Orientation
Program.
- Work with management and contracted security teams at 1820
Spirits to develop a system that is safe for all individuals that
enter onto the facility and leave the facility. Communicate
pertinent information with appropriate team members. Develop and
execute security measures to protect people and assets, and to
eliminate occurrence of or opportunities for theft. Ensure
adherence to Personal Safety, Food Safety, Quality and
Environmental Policies and Practices.
- Work with management teams to finalize the development and
execution of the Crisis Management system. Provide crisis
management plan advice and direction.
- Lead the creation of a safety culture to ensure employees think
safety first & watch out for the safety of others. Lead in a manner
consistent with the culture of the company. - Ensure employees are
treated fairly and with respect. - Create a team environment where
all employees are encouraged to make a difference in meeting and
exceeding customer expectations.
- Implement 1820 Spirits Health and Wellness Fair, coordinate
vendors, and encourage participation. Assist employees with online
Wellness system management. - -Salary range - $69,954 - $86,993
-*Placement within the salary range is calculated based upon years
of directly relatable experience for the position. - -

- Ability to communicate with all levels of an org
- Excellent oral & written communication skills
- Strong planning and organizational skills
- Bachelor's Degree
- Working knowledge of MS Office Products (Word, Excel and
Outlook)
- Knowledge of environmental regulations and related compliance
experience
- Ability to drive results in a complex, high-growth company
- 2 years relevant experience (minimum)PREFERRED
- Bachelor's Degree in EHS or related field
