Mortgage Loan Underwriter

Job Description:

A company is looking for a Mortgage Loan Underwriter to analyze mortgage loan documents and ensure compliance with guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

Review and analyze mortgage loan documents for compliance with agency and investor guidelines
Make independent loan decisions and document information in Encompass LOS
Collaborate with processing staff to address underwriting deficiencies and maintain service level standards

Required Qualifications, Training, and Education

A minimum of 5+ years of recent residential mortgage underwriting experience
6+ years of overall mortgage industry experience
Proficiency in evaluating borrower profiles and mortgage loan documents
Experience with Jumbo loans and manual underwriting preferred
Bachelor's degree in finance or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience
