have a potential vacancy for a Paralegal IV supporting the US
Attorney's Office (USAO). The USAO serves as the nation's principal
litigators under the direction of the Attorney General. The Asset
Forfeiture Section at the USAO is responsible for the prosecution
of both criminal and civil actions against property used or
acquired during illegal activity. We are SO glad you are reading

Possess a Paralegal Certificate Have supervisory experience Have
hands-on familiarity with a variety of computer applications,
including word processing, database, spreadsheet, and
telecommunications Have at least three years of paralegal
experience including some trial related experience, with a working
knowledge of legal systems, legal research procedures, and sources

that out of the way, let's look at the daily life of a Paralegal IV
on this project. You will report to the Contractor's Project
Director or Operations Supervisor; and you may also have
significant contact with Government officials and clients. Some of
the things you will do are assist attorneys by providing Legal
Clerk and Paralegal / Legal Assistant II & III review. You will
direct and supervise the work of paralegal and other contractor
staff, particularly on major paralegal support efforts such as
large legal research projects or major in-courtroom support. You
will monitor work and report on progress, as you are responsible
for ensuring that the work meets contract and attorney requirements
are delivered on time. This means that you will need to
troubleshoot and perform quality control spot-checks, and formulate
administrative and technical procedures for getting the work done.
You will also perform complex, legal factual research.
Additionally, you will design and develop systems and procedures
for tracking, controlling, and managing case files, exhibits, and
other case-specific materials, and assist trial staff in the
coordination of expert witnesses. To succeed in these duties and
responsibilities, it is essential to have excellent written and
oral communication skills, analytic ability, and thorough knowledge
of legal research tools. You should also possess the ability to
