Job SummaryThis is a dynamic leadership role within the Produce
Department at Whole Foods Market. The successful candidate will be
responsible for assisting the Team Leader in all aspects of daily
operations, including profitability, expense control, buying,
merchandising, labor, regulatory compliance and special projects
assigned. The ideal candidate will have a passion for delivering
exceptional customer service, leading and developing Team Members,
and maintaining a positive company image.Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain creative store layouts and product
merchandising.
- Work with the Team Leader to achieve sales, purchasing, and
labor targets.
- Assist the Team Leader in analyzing sales reports, labor, and
other key performance indicators.
- Demonstrate advanced product knowledge and stay up-to-date on
new products.
- Maintain good vendor relationships, develop new vendor
relationships, and ensure all necessary paperwork is submitted for
vendor processing.
- Work with the Team Leader to resolve team concerns or
issues.
- Function as the point person and departmental person in charge
in the absence of the Team Leader.
- Set and achieve the highest standards of retail execution.
- Foster a positive work environment, promoting outstanding
teamwork, mutual respect, and exceptional morale.
- Maintain awareness of customer flows and needs, directing Team
Members as necessary to satisfy and delight customers.
- Select, train, develop, mentor, motivate, and counsel Team
Members to sustain a high-performance team and minimize
turnover.
- Provide timely, thorough, and thoughtful performance
evaluations.
- Consistently communicate and model Whole Foods Market's vision
and goals.Requirements

operations-related applications.Experience
- 18+ months retail Team Member experience and 6+ months of
supervisory experience.Working Conditions
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
- In an 8-hour workday, standing/walking 6-8 hours.
- Ability to work in a wet and cold environment.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights,
weekends, and holidays as needed.
