Job Description:
This Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for:
- Consulting and collaborating with care providers and
interdisciplinary team members during daily rounds. Managing
assigned patients throughout the course of the day.
- Participating in development and implementation of patient's
plan of care with patient's attending physician, consulting
physicians and other members of the patient's healthcare team.
- Obtaining relevant history and performing physical exams in the
Emergency Department, during the inpatient stay, and clinic visits
as indicated.
- Ordering and interpreting labs and diagnostic tests within the
guideline of practice and in collaboration with the physician.
- Coordinating the care of multiple consults services for
multi-system trauma patients.
- Participating in ongoing research and quality improvement
initiatives, as well as facilitating patient/family and
multidisciplinary team education.
- Active participation in department meetings and hospital
committees.
- Contributing to the ongoing education and professional
development of nurses, physicians and other healthcare providers in
the area of pediatric trauma.
- Responding to outpatient calls from families as needed.
- Participating in the Trauma Performance Improvement process
(PIPS).
- Working 25 hours/week day shifts. (No weekends or holidays)
To qualify, you must have:
- A minimum of 2 years inpatient pediatric experience, surgical
or critical care experience preferred.
- 1+ year of Pediatric NP experience preferred
- Will consider new graduate NP with recent pediatric inpatient
surgical or critical care RN experience
- Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP)
- Master's degree with current NP license**Sign-on bonus of
$3,125.00 for part-time (25 hours) NP hires (who have not worked at
BCH in the past 2 years.)
