The ED is staffed 24 hours per day, 365 days a year by board-certifiedemergency medicine physicians, as well as highly skilled emergency care nursingstaff. We are a Level IV Trauma Centerproviding emergency care for patients of all ages, with a broad spectrum ofillnesses and injuries. Must be BLS, ACLS, PALS certified. Job Responsibilities: As a registered nurse you will assist in planning, delivery and evaluation of patient care within scope of practice Use your knowledge and skills to provide appropriate care You will assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her age-specific needs Quality of care is provided in an efficient safe manner consistent with policies and procedures for the department Demonstrates performance consistent with the mission, philosophy and goals of the assigned unit and the organization Resolve patient care and departmental situations within scope of responsibility and refer problems beyond that scope to appropriate individuals Assists with data collection in research studies being conducted in work area ED at Cottage Hospital As an establishedLevel IV Trauma Center, Cottage Hospital's Emergency Department is prepared toprovide trauma care to patients of all ages 24 hours a day. A Level IV trauma designation is awarded tohospitals in remote areas that demonstrate the ability to provide advancedtrauma life support to patients prior to transfer. With a level IV designation,our Emergency Department must demonstrate the ability to resuscitate andstabilize patients with traumatic injuries such as falls, motor vehicleaccidents and other catastrophic incidents. Trauma Center designation mandatesthe establishment of emergency protocols and a formal quality assessmentprogram. Hospitals are designated as a Level IV trauma center by the AmericanCollege of Surgeons; this distinguished classification requires recertificationevery three years. Qualifications / Skills/Experience: Successful completion of an accredited RN program Current RN NH License One year of RN experience preferred (willing to train the right person ) Requires sitting, standing and walking for extended periods of time. Requires bending, crouching or kneeling.
