Job Description:

A renowned Summer Camp in Fairfield County, CT is looking for a Registered Nurse to join their team for two weeks in August! Under the supervision of the Day Camp Director, the Day Camp Nurse is responsible for providing first aid and/or immediate medical attention to campers when needed. The Day Camp Nurse follows all camp protocols, regulations, policies and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide all first aid or medical attention to campers as needed. Contact camper's parents if deemed necessary.
• Log all treatment given to campers into a bound Camp Medical Log. Maintain individual written medication administration records for each camper to be reviewed prior to administering each dose of medication.
• Keep all camper medication in a secure, locked area or container, away from food, inaccessible to children and unauthorized personnel. Store internal and external medications separately. Refrigerate medication when necessary, as instructed by label or manufacturer's directions.
• Ensure all medication is stored in the original child-resistant safety container and is properly labeled.
• Receive camp phone calls throughout the day. Relay any messages from parents/guardians to appropriate staff members.
• Perform other duties pertaining to the Day Camp Nurse role deemed necessary, reasonable, and appropriate as instructed by Day Camp Director. Qualifications:
  • Must have valid Connecticut Registered Nursing License.
  • Must be CPR Certified
  • Prior experience working in day camp environment preferred but not necessary.
  • Ability to work well with children, parents and co-workers.
