- 207-661-6892Position SummaryAt Trellis Health, we are on a
mission to transform primary care. We seek a Medical Assistant who
is not just skilled in their role, but is passionate about
pioneering innovative healthcare solutions. As part of a start-up
subsidiary of Maine Health, you will play a crucial role in shaping
our clinical practices and patient experiences from the ground up.
This position requires flexibility, a high level of autonomy, and a
proactive approach to both problem-solving and patient care.The
Medical Assistant is an unlicensed medical professional
cross-trained to perform routine administrative and clinical tasks
to keep the Trellis Health clinic running smoothly. In addition to
administrative duties, the Medical Assistant performs clinical
duties under direct provider supervision in accordance with state
medical practice acts. The Medical Assistant is an integral member
of a Care Team that is focused on providing excellent and
comprehensive primary care for a specific population of
patients.Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
(KSAs)Education: High school diploma or GED preferred. Must meet
one of the following requirements: graduated from an accredited
vocational institution or community college in Medical Assisting
with 160 hours of clinical experience completed; or completion of
an Adult Education Medical Assistant program and 6 months of
clinical experience in a practice setting; or 1 year of clinical
experience in a multi-provider practice setting (equivalent
experience will be evaluated on a case-by-case
basis).License/Certifications: Current AAMA, NHA, AMT, or NCCT
certification required. Current BLS certification required. An NH
Med Tech License is required for those positions located in New
Hampshire.Experience: 1+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant
required.Basic Life Support certification: Within first 90
days.NSHC Health Coaching Certificate within 6 months. (facilitated
with Trellis Health).Additional Skills/Requirements
Required:Conduct telehealth visits as part of our commitment to
providing access to care. Must possess strong digital literacy
skills, demonstrate proficiency with telehealth platforms, and
maintain a high standard of patient care and communication in a
virtual setting.EMR Experience.Excellent interpersonal and customer
service skills with a heart of compassion and empathy towards our
patients and families.Ability to effectively collaborate and
partner with team members, including physicians and other
clinicians, market leaders, center managers, nurses, case managers,
front desk staff, center managers, and market leaders.Mindset
focused on resolving problems for patients and achieving team
goals.Must be detail-oriented to ensure accuracy of reports and
data.Skilled in basic phone and computer operation.Spoken and
written fluency in English.Additional Skills/Requirements
Preferred:Exceptional oral and written communication skills, time
management skills and organizational skills.Knowledge of medical
products, terminology, services, standards, policies and
procedures.Ability to maintain effective and organized systems to
ensure timely patient flow.Ability to act calmly in busy or
stressful situations.Proficient skills in Microsoft Office Suite
products including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel plus a
variety of other word-processing, spreadsheet, database, e-mail and
