Merrimack College's School of Engineering and Computational
Sciences is a hub of innovation and excellence in engineering and
computational disciplines. We currently offer ABET-accredited
civil, electrical, and mechanical engineering undergraduate
programs. Furthermore, we have computer engineering, computer
science, and data science programs. Our commitment to providing
cutting-edge education is reflected in the new programs we launch
in the coming years. In the academic year 2024-25, we introduced
construction management, information technology, and information
systems programs. In 2025-26, we will introduce a program in
electromechanical engineering.
Our student body comprises approximately 500 undergraduate
students, all receiving a rigorous education that prepares them for
success in their chosen fields. In addition to our undergraduate
offerings, we have graduate programs in computer science, data
science, civil engineering, mechanical engineering, engineering
management, and product management. These programs are experiencing
significant growth, serve around 200 graduate students, and are
designed to provide advanced knowledge and skills in high demand in
today's job market.

Position Overview:
The Department of Civil Engineering in the School of Engineering
and Computational Sciences invites applications for a full-time,
open rank, non-tenure track Assistant/Associate/Full Professor of
Practice/Assistant/Associate/Full Instructional Professor positions
in Construction Management and Construction Management Program
Director. The appointment is expected to begin in Spring 2025 or
Fall 2005. The successful candidate will be responsible for develop
and teach undergraduate and possibly graduate courses.
Primary Responsibilities:
Deliver three courses (12 credits) in each academic semester.
Stay current with emerging trends and advancements in the field to
ensure course content is up-to-date and aligned with industry
needs.
Mentor and guide students toward academic and professional
success.
Maintain regular office hours for student consultations.
Actively participate in departmental and institutional
activities.
Collaborate in a collegial and professional manner to foster a
supportive and positive working environment.
The Construction Management Program Director will be expected to
provide overall leadership in the academic aspects of and
recruiting for the program, and may be granted a course load
reduction in recognition of those responsibilities.
Qualifications:
Minimum of an M.S. degree in Construction Management or Civil
Engineering, or a related field.
Strong background in the field of construction management.
Demonstrated, or potential for, teaching excellence at the
undergraduate and graduate levels.
Strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion and
demonstrated experience working with diverse populations.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability
to collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, students, and
external stakeholders.
