Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Associate Team Leader to join our Prepared Foods team at Whole Foods Market. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assisting the Team Leader in all aspects of daily operations, including profitability, expense control, buying, merchandising, labor, regulatory compliance, and special projects. You will lead and develop Team Members, ensuring a positive company image by providing courteous, friendly, and efficient service to customers and Team Members at all times.Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain creative store layouts and product merchandising to drive sales and customer engagement.
  • Work closely with the Team Leader to achieve sales, purchasing, and labor targets, analyzing sales reports and labor data to inform decision-making.
  • Assist the Team Leader in maintaining advanced product knowledge, staying up-to-date on new products and vendor relationships.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding promptly to customer needs and questions, and directing Team Members to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Lead and develop Team Members, providing timely performance evaluations, coaching, and mentoring to ensure a high-performance team.
  • Function as the point person and departmental person in charge in the absence of the Team Leader, ensuring seamless operation and customer satisfaction.
  • Set and achieve the highest standards of retail execution, fostering a positive environment of outstanding teamwork, mutual respect, and exceptional morale.Requirements
    • 18+ months retail Team Member experience and 6+ months of supervisory experience.
    • High energy, enthusiasm, and a genuine passion for our products, core values, and company philosophy.
    • Excellent interpersonal, motivational, team building, and customer relationship skills.
    • Advanced knowledge of regulatory and safety policies and procedures.
    • Proficient mathematical skills for assessing financial performance, monitoring profitability, and managing inventory.
    • Demonstrated decision-making ability, leadership skills, and ability to prioritize and delegate.
    • Proficiency with email, Microsoft Office, and operations-related applications.Working Conditions
      • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
      • Ability to lift 50 pounds and stand/walk for 6-8 hours in an 8-hour workday.
      • Exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals and temperatures up to 90 degrees Fahrenheit.Please note that this is a general summary of the key responsibilities and requirements for the position.
