Job Description BAE Systems' Electronic Systems sector is
seeking a Director of Functional Training & Enablement to lead and
support the development of functional training - a service and
capability that sustains the learning of over 16,000 sector
employees and contractors within the United States. This role is
also responsible for sector application of the enterprise-wide the
Learning Management System (LMS). Working collaboratively with
stakeholders within the sector as well as across the broader
enterprise, this position requires a strong training acumen
including learning management systems and reporting, learning and
development strategy and compliance. This leader will manage a
small team as well as serve as the Community of Practice Leader for
a cross-functional working group. The role is responsible for
driving balanced, consistent and efficient training across the
sector as well implementing audit management, functional training
standards and providing support/administration. This role reports
to the Director of HR Operations and Analytics with a close
connection to the Director of Talent. This is a phenomenal

streamlining, rationalization and upgrade of training capabilities
in our $6+billion sector!This position may be fully remote or
hybrid with an understanding that travel will likely be required
across the US-based BAE Systems footprint.**Please note that
pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires
US citizenship status** Responsibilities include:
- Collaborate closely with Inc and sector stakeholders to advance
and balance relevant business and development objectives that
optimizes Return On Investment (ROI)
- Drive the use of recognized adult learning theory best
practices for designing and delivering functional training
- Represent the ES Sector on the BAE Learning Council
- Participate in and influence an upcoming LMS Request For
Proposal (RFP) to ensure that ES sector needs are met either with
the existing system or a new tool
- Advance training effectiveness and efficiency (including
rationalization)
- Develop a sector-wide functional training strategy to ensure
tailorable consistent, compliant and efficient training policy,
assignments, processes and tools, infrastructure and budget
- Serve as the LMS subject matter expert for the ES sector
- Lead the Functional Training Working Group
- Drive training audit strategy and management
- Develop a strategy for merger and acquisition (M&A)
training integration
Manage the evolution of our on-line
university platform incorporating user and employee experience (UX
and EX) best practicesEnsure new content creation adheres to online
learning best practicesEnsure LMS technical support and
troubleshooting for course designers and users of ES University
Develop key metrics to track and report to ES HR senior leadership
on functional training effectiveness and impactRequired Education,
Experience, & Skills
- Bachelor's degree and 12+ years of prior relevant experience OR
Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10+ years of
experience
- Experience formulating and implementing a functional training
strategy across a large business segment
- Deep understanding of learning management systems and other
learning technologies, including their deployment, maintenance, and
integration
- Current on adult learning theory, instructional design,
capability mapping, and modern learning tools and
methodologies
- Leadership experience as demonstrated by driving organizational
change and implementation of new tools
- Ability to present to and influence senior leaders and
stakeholders
- Ability to build cross-functional relationships
- Willing to travel up to 25%Preferred Education, Experience, &

- Training professional certifications
- Experience in project management and continuous
improvement
- Experience with Compliance Training and Audit procedures
- Experience working within a highly complex matrixed
environmentPay InformationFull-Time Salary Range: $128100 -
$217800Please note: This range is based on our market pay
structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a
variety of factors including, but not limited to: business
considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as
well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and
