We are leading the way in the development of advanced processing solutions that enable our customers to deliver new mission capabilities to address evolving challenges and threats.The Space Systems product line is seeking an Engineering Assistant to support a mission-focused, multi-disciplinary engineering team through the full lifecycle of product development and O&M activities, including the development, assembly, and delivery of rack mounted systems. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work from specific drawings, sketches, schematics and verbal instructions to compile parts lists, support drafting of engineering drawings, wire lists, and interconnect diagrams.
  • Assemble multi-server signal processing systems within equipment racks and associated cabling according to engineering documentation.
  • Utilize standard test equipment and follow prescribed test procedures to perform circuit continuity and current and voltage checks. Test for proper equipment operation and repair or replace defective parts and components as required.
  • Configure and operate standard tests on experimental equipment. Record test data following well-defined methods and present such data in prescribed form.
  • Support the development of engineering drawings, parts lists and related engineering documentation.
  • Potential for international travel to support on-site installation of multi-rack signal processing systems in an operational environment.Because of the need for consistent, in-person collaboration and/or the requirement to perform all work onsite due to the nature of this particular role, it will be performed full-time on site. This means work will be conducted on location at a BAE Systems facility 100% of the time.* Please note that pursuant to a government contract, this specific position requires US citizenship statusRequired Education, Experience, & Skills
    • Associates Degree in Electronic Engineering Technology or two (2) years of related experience.
    • Self-starter: Able to complete assigned tasks with minimum oversight
    • Team Player: Able to function and contribute within a team environment
    • Willing to perform a mix of desk/computer work and physical/hands-on assembly work
    • Strong written and oral communication skills
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, i.e., Word, PowerPoint, Excel
    • Top Secret ClearancePreferred Education, Experience, & Skills
      • Experience working in an engineering development and test environment
      • Ability to track and report progress on assigned tasks
      • Experience with Microsoft Visio
      • Strong computer skillsPay InformationFull-Time Salary Range: $72380 - $115830Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
