seeking a Geologist, Engineering Geologist, or Geological Engineer
to work in a technical support role with highly skilled
professionals on diverse project teams in a dynamic environment.
This position entails work outside collecting geologic information
and taking it back to the office to develop solutions for our
clients. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing company
and get involved in a variety of projects on the East Coast and
across the country. This full-time position is in the New England,
New York, or Mid-Atlantic regions, based out of one of the
following offices: Portland, ME; Manchester, NH; Boston, MA; Rocky
Hill, CT; New York City, NY; Parsippany, NJ; McLean, VA or
Midlothian VA. A remote position may be considered for the ideal
candidate.DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIESThe successful candidate will:
- Plan, execute and oversee rock engineering and other geologic
evaluation projects.
- Direct geologic research and prepare geologic site
descriptions.
- Supervise and/or perform field investigations, rock engineering
analyses, and construction monitoring.
- Evaluate rock slope hazards and design rockfall mitigation and
stabilization systems, including plans and specifications.
- Prepare written reports and cost estimates.
- Supervise and/or perform blast vibration monitoring,
instrumentation for blasting and structural/geotechnical
monitoring, and review blast design plans.
- Plan and adhere to Site Specific Health and Safety Plans
prepared for each project site, including participation in site
safety briefings and audits by both contractors and Haley &
Aldrich.
- Coordinate scheduling with contractors and subcontractors.
- Must comply with the Guiding Principles and Code of Behavior
articulated in our Company Charter.
- Must comply with company and client Health & Safety
protocols.SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in Geology, Engineering Geology, Geological
Engineering or related field.
- Master's degree in Engineering Geology, Structural Geology or
Geotechnical Engineering is a plus.
- Professional registration, or ability and interest in obtaining
registration; has applied or will apply for initial professional
certification in their core discipline.
- 3-10 years of geology or engineering experience.
- Demonstrated experience with site investigations, including
structural bedrock measurements and mapping, data interpretation,
geotechnical test borings, rock coring and geophysics.
- Demonstrated experience with evaluation of rockfall hazards,
rockfall mitigation alternatives analysis, catchment ditch design,
rock slope stability (both natural and cut), structural rock cut
design and rockfall mitigation systems, experience with trim
blasting and mining a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong computer literacy skills including proficiency in rock
engineering software, familiarity with the Rocscience suite or
design of mesh and dowel systems is a plus.
- Ability to travel to temporary assignments.

City, NY is $65,000 to $130,000 annually. Actual compensation will
be based upon a variety of factors such as education, related work
experience, certificates, skills, and current market conditions.
