DescriptionThe Position: Reporting tothe IT Network Operations
Manager, the IT Network Engineer delivers secure,reliable network
infrastructure that enables a variety NHEC workflows to workand
communicate effectively, securely, and efficiently. Duties:
- Install, configure, secure, and maintain LAN and WAN IT andOT
networks.
- Work with Systems Engineering and Information Security teams
toensure secure, efficient functionality to support all operations
at NHEC.
- Install, configure, and maintain local area network (LAN)
andwide area network (WAN) office equipment including routers,
switches, andfirewalls.
- Install, configure, and maintain office wireless
networkinfrastructure.
- Configure and maintain remote access and site-to-site
VPNconnectivity.
- Configure and maintain voice-over-IP (VOIP) systems.
- Proactively monitor and troubleshoot networking availabilityand
performance.
- Maintain accurate inventory of network equipment,connections,
circuits, and locations.
- Promote and adhere to industry best practices for data
centermanagement for clean, organized racks and cabling.
- Document, maintain and periodically evaluate theefficiency of
IT operations through automation and orchestration.
- Support the Service Desk by providing 2nd level
technicalsupport and coordinating 3rd level technical support with
vendors.
- Ensure network equipment configuration adheres to NHECadopted
and regulatory mandated security controls.
- Expand personal knowledge and skills of networking andsecurity
best practices through regular training and certifications,
membershipin industry and network organizations, and participation
in online groups andforums. Use this knowledge to recommend updates
and strategic goals related tonetworking.
- Other duties as assigned.The Person:Knowledge,Skills, and
Abilities:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related IT field
preferred plus 3 years of experience in networkengineering or 7
years equivalent experience in lieu of bachelor's degree.
- Cisco CertifiedNetwork Professional (CCNP) or Cisco Certified
Internetwork Expert (CCIE)certification or equivalent
experience.
- Experience withenterprise, operational (ICS), and broadband
network technologies preferred.
- Proficient innetwork concepts and protocols including BGP, IP
routing, NAT/CGNAT, VLAN, PON,and HA. Working knowledge of systems
concepts and protocols includingvirtualization, backup and
recovery, cloud services, IAM, and security.
- Experience creating physical, logical and flowdiagrams in
Microsoft Visio.
- Attention to detail as demonstrated by thoroughand careful
planning and execution of IT projects and changes.
- Commitment to quality and continuousimprovement as demonstrated
by technical excellence, curiosity, willingness tolearn from
mistakes.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solvingabilities.
- Excellent writing skills as demonstrated inclear and concise

constantly. Working Conditions:
- Must have avalid driver's license and ability to drive to any
office location.
- Partialtelecommuting is acceptable with management approval,
however on-site officework in the Plymouth NH area will be required
on a weekly basis. Occasional after-hours work is expected.
Participatein an on-call rotation to provide after-hours support
and respond toemergencies promptly.
- Assistance with power restorationefforts is required of all
employees. It may be required during regularbusiness hours that
employees will be assigned functions to support powerrestoration
and for some employees that may be different from their
normalduties. In addition, such assistance may require working
nights, weekends andholidays which may involve considerable extra
hours. In order to meet thisworking condition, all employees are
required to provide a personal phonenumber where they may be
reached after hours. This number will only be used for internal
