Match Charter Public School is a free, high-performing charter public school in Boston. We are a PreK-12 school serving 1,250 students. ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
Match has an immediate opening for a Middle School Science Teacher to join the faculty for the 2024-2025 school year. This position is located at our middle school on 215 Forest Hills St. in Jamaica Plain.
The compensation for Match teaching positions ranges from $61,819-$98,889 and is based on a candidates prior years of teaching experience. Match offers a comprehensive benefits package that includes 90% coverage of health insurance costs and student loan repayment assistance.
Staff working hours are Monday-Friday, 7:15am-2:45pm. On Wednesdays, staff stay until 4:30pm for professional development, staff meetings and work time.

OVERVIEW OF ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
This Middle School Science Teacher position includes a number of essential responsibilities, including (but not limited to):

Teach four middle school science classes;
Develop daily lessons aligned with Matchs Science curriculum in collaboration with department colleagues and leadership team members;
Uphold high academic and behavioral expectations for students, and provide lots of support for getting students there;
Participate actively in Matchs coaching and professional development programming;
Assist with school programming as needed during non-instructional time; and
Serve as a positive and collaborative member of the Match Charter Public School community.

We are looking for applicants who:

have at least two years of full-time experience as classroom or special education teacher, preferably in an urban education setting;
hold a valid and appropriate license issued by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, or obtain the licensure within a year of date of hire;
believe that all students can and will succeed;
have a desire to continually improve their practice as a teacher by taking and implementing feedback;
have a proven record of student success and achievement; and
demonstrate an ability to work well on a team, and a willingness to support others in doing their best work.
