Job Description:
A company is looking for a Senior Production Editor to manage
complex, design-intensive titles from manuscript to bound book.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage 20-25 original titles per year from manuscript transmittal
to bound book using electronic workflow
Oversee reprints and prepare manuscripts for design and
typesetting
Hire and supervise freelance copyeditors, proofreaders, and
indexers, and review their work
Required Qualifications:
At least 5 years of production editorial experience, particularly
with cookbooks or heavily illustrated books
Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Word and Adobe
Acrobat
Knowledge of Chicago Manual of Style and conscious language
guidelines
Ability to balance multiple projects in a fast-paced,
deadline-driven environment
Experience in identifying and retaining capable editorial
freelancers is a plus
