Draper, visit .Job Description Summary:The Mission Assurance
Division Leader will lead approximately 120 people in the areas of
Reliability, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing Quality, Supplier
Quality, Quality Management System (QMS), Configuration Management
(CM), Product Assurance, Lean Six Sigma, and Software Quality
Assurance. The Division Leader will report to the Director of
Mission Assurance and will have between 7-10 direct reports
comprised of Group Leaders and Staff Engineers.
As a senior-level technical professional, you will demonstrate
success essential to providing the technical leadership necessary
for the development of an environment focused on quality.Job
Description:Duties/Responsibilities
- Development/Delivery of executive briefings on Draper wide
performance metrics.
- Recommend improvements to business processes and follow up with
executive leadership on initiatives.
- Alignment of activities with evolving business needs, the
development and implementation of the Division's Strategic
Plan.
- Business development and technical support as required by
Draper program offices.
- Management of staff hiring and recruiting.
- Adjustment of organizational structure as necessary to support
new Draper initiatives.
- Maintenance of internal audit and continuous process
improvement.
- Oversight of the quality of execution of projects led by
Division staff. Personnel resource management for projects staffed
by the Division.
- Career development of the future leaders of the organization
through mentoring, growth assignments, professional seminars, and
other educational opportunities.Skills/Abilities
- Able to solve complex problems.
- Understanding of the program / product lifecycle in one or more
of the Engineering Areas.
- Able to drive broad organizational corrective action to improve
business processes
- Knowledge of organizational and project-based performance
metrics.
- Strong written and verbal communication, analytical and
problem-solving skills.
- Self-starter and the ability to set organizational vision and
achieve results.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment is a
must.
- Knowledge of industry and government regulations and
certification standards (FAA, FDA, DO-178, etc.)EducationBachelor's
degree required in an Engineering or technical field. (M.S.
preferred)Experience10+ years of experience in an Engineering
and/or Program Management. Including at least 5 years of experience
managing individual contributors, managers, and cross-functional
teams.Additional Job Description:
- Work with the Director to develop and implement the strategy
for the Division.
- Expand Draper's Quality Engineering capabilities, staff,
skills, and infrastructure to meet the needs of Draper's business
areas.
- Identify and deploy the technical staff required to meet the
requirements of Draper's programs.
- Attract, retain, develop, and apply a talented, diverse, and
dedicated workforce, as well as manage performance evaluation and
the compensation processes.
- Collaborate with the business units across the
organization.
- Ensure the continuation of Draper's ISO 9001-2015 and AS9100D
certifications.
- Oversee the development and maintenance of the Quality
Management System (QMS).
- Manage all division overhead budgets.
- Foster an atmosphere of collaboration that allows all team
members to be empowered to innovate.
- Oversight of Quality Management Review (QMR) meetings with
leadership.
- Grow Lean Six Sigma capabilities and expand the use of these
principle throughout the organization.
- Support priority program reviews and manage action item
log.
- Oversight of all of the division's proposal
activities.QualificationsThe qualified candidate must be
performance driven, a self-starter and have demonstrated
consistently outstanding performance in his/her career including
experience achieving results through proven use of other leaders.
The individual must have a proven track record in the successful
execution of both internally and externally funded programs with
respect to cost, schedule and tactical metrics. Strong
interpersonal, communication, and collaboration capabilities are
essential.Additional desired qualifications include:
- Understanding of lean six sigma principles.
- Leadership within a program team environment.
- Knowledge of quality standards, ISO 9001, AS9100D, AS9145, CMMI
Level III.
- Experience with proposal best practices, estimating, Basis of
Estimate (BOE), and technical writing.Applicant selected will be
